Thesis project concerning the interaction between nightmares and the body, analysing references ranging
from modern and contemporary art to medicine, and from cinema to philosophy. The thesis is divided into
phases like a manual for the use of a drug to induce nightmares, and graphically reflects the themes
of labyrinth, split personality and repetition present in the text.
Within these phases, the content is perpetually accompanied by the story ‘Hypnos’ by H.P. Lovecraft,
which overlaps and becomes partially illegible, creating a black trail that progresses with the reader in
a constant manner. It is synonymous with an unconscious permeated by dark and hidden parts that
relentlessly accompanies us, echoing the trail present in the site-specific installation with which the project concludes. The final work was subsequently exhibited at the ‘Milano Graphic Festival 2022’ and
at ‘Neologie - Torino Graphic Days 2021’, where it was selected among the competition finalists.
